Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026 · Applies to seesports.co.uk
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies SEESPORTS LTD uses on this website, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
SEESPORTS LTD ("SEESPORTS", "we", "us") is the data controller for cookies set directly by this website. Where cookies are set by third parties (e.g. Stripe, Google, Meta), those parties are independent data controllers in respect of the data they collect - their privacy policies are linked below.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits and remember information about your preferences or activity. Some cookies are essential to make the site work; others are optional and require your consent before being placed.
We also use related technologies including localStorage (to store your cookie preferences on your device) and tracking pixels (small invisible images loaded from third-party servers, used for marketing attribution - currently inactive on this site).
2. Cookie Categories We Use
We use three categories of cookies, as set out below. You are asked for your consent when you first visit this site, and non-essential cookies are not placed until you consent.
Strictly Necessary
Always ActiveThese cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or completing a payment. They do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is strictly necessary.
This includes cookies set by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe's cookies are classified as strictly necessary because they are essential for fraud detection and secure payment processing. They are not used for advertising and Stripe does not sell data collected via these cookies. Stripe Cookie Policy ↗
| Cookie Name | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | 1 year | Fraud prevention and secure payment processing. Set by Stripe.js on checkout pages to help detect and prevent fraudulent activity. |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | 30 minutes | Session identifier used by Stripe during active payment sessions for fraud detection. |
| _stripe_js_updated | Stripe | 1 year | Tracks the last time Stripe.js was loaded to support secure payment processing. |
| seesports_cookie_consent | SEESPORTS | Persistent (localStorage) | Stores your cookie consent preferences so you are not asked again on every visit. |
| session / auth tokens | SEESPORTS | Session | Required for authenticated user sessions and secure access to booking management. |
Analytics
Consent RequiredAnalytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website - which pages are most visited, how long people stay, and where they come from. This helps us improve the site. These cookies are provided by Google Analytics and are only placed if you give your explicit consent. The data is aggregated and anonymised where possible; no personal data is sold.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | 2 years | Distinguishes users to allow statistical analysis of how visitors use the site. |
| _ga_[ID] | Google Analytics | 2 years | Used by Google Analytics 4 to persist session state and track pageview sequences. |
| _gid | Google Analytics | 24 hours | Distinguishes users for a single-day session. |
| _gat / _gat_UA-* | Google Analytics | 1 minute | Throttles the request rate to Google Analytics to limit data collection on high-traffic pages. |
Marketing
Consent RequiredMarketing cookies track your browsing activity across sites to help us and our advertising partners show you relevant ads and measure campaign effectiveness. These cookies are only placed with your explicit consent.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | 3 months | Used by Meta Pixel to identify browsers across visits for ad retargeting and campaign measurement. |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | 2 years | Stores the last Facebook ad click reference (fbclid URL parameter) for attribution reporting. |
| fr | Meta (Facebook) | 3 months | Core advertising cookie for Facebook; used to deliver, measure, and improve ads on Meta platforms. |
| brevo_cid / sib_cuid | Brevo (Sendinblue) | 13 months | Tracks email campaign interaction and website visits to measure email marketing performance and enable re-targeting. |
3. Email Delivery - SendGrid
We use SendGrid (Twilio) to send booking confirmations, invoices, and other transactional emails. SendGrid may embed tracking pixels in emails to detect whether they have been opened, and may track link clicks within emails. This data is used solely to confirm successful delivery and troubleshoot delivery failures - it is not used for advertising.
Email tracking pixels are distinct from website cookies and operate within your email client rather than your browser. If you prefer not to have email opens tracked, you can disable image loading in your email client.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Cookie banner: When you first visit this site, you can accept all, reject non-essential, or manage individual preferences.
- Cookie preferences icon: Click the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page to update your choices at any time.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies via their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies (including Stripe's) may prevent payments from working correctly.
- Google Analytics opt-out: You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent data collection across all sites.
5. Legal Basis & Compliance
This cookie policy is maintained in compliance with:
- UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) and the ICO's updated guidance (March 2026), which requires opt-in consent for analytics and marketing cookies
- Irish ePrivacy Regulations (SI 336/2011) and the DPC's guidance, which applies equivalent consent requirements
- UK GDPR / EU GDPR - consent collected via our banner meets the GDPR standard of being freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous
6. Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy when we activate new cookies or third-party services (such as Meta Pixel or Brevo tracking). Material changes will be notified via the cookie consent banner, prompting you to review and reconfirm your preferences.
